Website Review and Suggestions

Hi guys,
I launched my new website www.timesaysitall.com. You can record your videos and set a specific time to it and the video will be delivered at the date. Now I have the programming part complete and was working on design part.

I would like to have some suggestions as to what kind of design should I work on. I need some good ideas.

I think it needs to be lighter, and to put across the message as soon as someone goes on it. A bit like the attached to give you an idea.

Just being honest... from what I see on the site... I have no idea what it is for and it looks like something that was built in an hour or so... jazz it up and you will have a great looking site!

I like the background gradient, but I would invest a few bucks in a nice logo for the site...

Also, like zelo said, on the page you never really mention what the site does... Maybe consider a tagline under your logo....

Like:
Time Capsule Website
Record then blah blah short description

I also liked VK91's suggestion for a template... It looks really sleek...

Looks alright. It needs a lot more information on what it offers etc.

Also, you should consider how far ahead in time people might want the video delivered and whether or not the email account for the person will still be active etc. Perhaps you could offer email hosting service as well. You would also have to look at ensuring you server will still be running when it comes time to deliver the video.
I know most of my review isn't based on the actual layout etc but you have a very interesting idea.

I think the site needs to be a little more structured. Home page needs some better graphic treatment and really needs to pop more.

I have to be honest & say that if I had not your first post I would not have much of an idea what the site content or function was. Is it like a time capsule thing? Deciding on how to get function across is a big factor in styling your website. One without the other is hard.

Ok well thats point number 1. Advertise what the site is or have something explaining it - do you ever expect it to be located by search engines ? You say its invitation only so maybe if it is not meant to be found then the index page content does not matter. But if you do ever expect it to be successfully indexed then you need that front page so at least say what the site is about. Believe me it will help the search engines as well as the readers.

Design.

Hard to comment on with so little there apart from background. Perhaps a better review will be recieved when you have done more work. For the moment colours are ok. Logo needs work. Blue border bleeds into the background - is this intentional.

Try a colour wheel program for help on some colours to jazz it up. Loads of free ones or one of the best to invest a few dollars in is Color Impact by Tiger Color. There is orange in the logo you do have - great start but make it bigger. Perhaps you could utilise orange or another complimentary colour more.

Best of luck though certainly not a bad start on the site.

You aren't going to get many to want to take the time to register and venture in without at lest giving them a taste of what your site is really about - what you are offering them in exchange for registering.

I love the concept for your site, but the design itself seems all over the place. It's like you created this template, didn't want to put anymore time in it and just started randomly entering text in the body that is hard to follow. I want to navigate away from the site and look around and see what its about.

The concept is good but the delivery is not so good. Like cch068, it is not readily known what the site is about.

Nice concept. Good gradient background. there are a few things you should correct. Add a nice logo. Put some information regarding what the site is about. Home page requires some cool graphics.

Hi,

Your website is looking good, but you can do or much better. You should design your home page attractive with the help of flash header, graphical logo, eye catcher color and text management.
