I think the look is alright, if not a bit stretched.

The idea however has some flaws in my perspective.

1. Even for the 3$ people wont want to claim a city unless there site is already moving. And the site can't get moving unless people claim cities. It would be better if it were free

2. The Large/major cities have just as much weight as tiny ones, therefore as soon as one claims Denver, you have cut off all traffic/revenue from Denver. Might want to have more than just one person per city.

3. There is no organization to the whole thing, I don't see myself searching through internet sites solely based on the city they originate in. If I want books, or grapes or pens I'll look for a site that has these things easily organized, not patrol hundreds of cities looking for something I need. You might want to add a "Organize by topic" or some such thing.

4. its 3$, whats the incentive to make that purchase if one believes that there think wont be seen by anyone.

Overall I think it is an interesting Idea, but you should add more than 1 listing per city and offer it for free as well as add some sort of organized hierarchy. Otherwise I don't see it working out

What exactly does "claim" mean? Do I actually own the city?
ROFL, If this was actually "frequently asked question" I would speculate that your visitors should visit one of many mental health websites. If you are going to make up FAQ, have it be a plausable question

It's a really original idea and the site is not bad. You need to consider some marketing strategy to get it going.
You appear to have no takers so far so give it a month where people can sign up for free - get the interest going. Once popular locations have gone you could do some sort of bidding to generate more revenue.
I would be careful of any legal issues. Places with active tourism may not be happy with anyone owning their city and writing possibly inaccurate stuff.

Your navigation is not good. For example I tried to look at the status for London, UK. I would expected being able to either search for it, or click on a link for cities in England staring with L. Instead I have to navigate through cities starting A, B, Cs, etc, to get to the ones starting with L. I gave up instead.

Ok I took your guys' advice. Or some of it.
I reduced the price to $1, to get things going and spark interest. Maybe once people see others claiming cities..people will be more inclined to claim one themselves.
I'm not going to let more than 1 person claim any one city..even Denver.
Then it becomes a link farm, which I don't want.
I'm kinda going for the United Nations thing.. 1 seat per country
And for the poster above ^^^^ Im going to work on the navigation part, especially with England.
Thanks for the tips.

The center world map is stretched and it is noticeable by user n designing point of view !!

User dont know on which page they are, so for this, you can active the link or u can put like about>claim>united state of america....

it helps to the visitors to know where they are !!!

Contact us is on the last links section it should be beside the top links like home, faqs, forums, links, contact us !!!

rest is fine....!!!

regards,

Very good idea. Your site is neat and clean. I think you should have a search facility for one to search the desired city easily. The world map is stretched and there should be a link back to the home page.
