Aura,
Great question. The answer is that it is a manual process, but for a very good reason. The agent complained that the listings out of the MLS can be up to 4 weeks old and many houses showing up in the MLS have already been sold. This is particularly true in Maryland where the housing market is hot. So the agent wanted an absolutely real-time vehicle for showing her properties to her customers on the net. Hopefully, that's what we've provided.
So I developed a web application (largely hidden from internet users) accessible via a control panel. The agent punches in the details about the listing and uploads a picture without needing to FTP. Listings can be updated, deleted, disabled/enabled and so forth. It also has image file management built in to manage the uploaded images.
Again, most of this is out of view of the visitor, but that's the basic premise behind the site.
Thanks,
Kyrnt
