Here's what is think about the site, layout, and colours:
- the header of the page is a little too big for the width of the page - this makes it overbearing and the content of the page unnecessarily stretches to two pages;
- the text colour is a little too contrasting - hard to read (as has been mentioned b4);
- The yellow colour of the text in the first paragraph with white commas in between does not look right to me;
- the graphic elements of the page other than the heading (banner) of the page are a little too large - this makes the page look as though it is screaming for attention but lacking the balance between sizes thus making it look cheap and dodgy;
- the curved shapes in welcome and featured services look somewhat flat and unfinished/disjointed;
- the dark blue background of the main area of the page looks wider than the heading of the page (just looks unfinished somewhat);
- Why do I have to go right down the bottom of the page to get to the main browsing options? I personally did not like it and feel as though I was being forced to look for things, which brassed me off...
- I do not know who chose the wording Absolutely Free Promo -this rings cheap too because next thing it says no obligation da-di-da - lacks style somewhat (it's probably not you). I'd put Free Promo, no obligation etc...
When I see these kind of things I smell rat - sounds very dodgy to me...
- Contact Us link disappears from pages following the Homepage;
- On request quote page the buttons send and clear look uglu -flat andtoo large -out of proportions with the est of the elements. There is no need to use the $ sign if you already stated the currency as USD. It looks out of place any way where it is;
- The forms fields look flat and ugly - I'd add a 1px border to the fields to make the fields look a bit more interesting;
What I would do:
- I would play around with the shade of the font colour to make it less hard on the eyes;
- I'd make the header of the site smaller and the other graphic elements (banners) smaller too;
- I'd give the yellow panels at the top some volume by embossing them or adding a fine small shadow.
That's the first impression as a visitor of the site without going deeper.
I just noticed that this is a Filipino web design service company site, which I pretty much picked up within first few minutes. I must say what I see is quite typical of the approaches to presenting yourself - scream as loud as you can about your services thus making the site look suspicious and visitors weary even if you provide a top notch service and customers are queing up for your expertise....
I am really sorry if the post offends you, particularly if you put long hours into designing the page. But that's what you asked for - to give you an opinion, so there you go.
For those who may find my comments about the Asian look and feel racial and/or offensive - no harm meant. I am very fond of the Asian culture, traditions, practice qigong and Asian cuisine is a No 1 cuisine for me. I have been a long standing fan of Asia for yonks...
Also, I do not know your relation to the company itself, but the templates do not look credible as there are many templates with the elements repeated. It makes all the red warning lights flashing and the bells ringing. I wold most definitely steer clear off the services. The testimonials
look very dodgy too.. what do just names tell you?... nothing...any one can come up with a handful of credibly looking names vouching for the service it would not make any difference if the names were some thing like Joe Average, Joe Bloggs, Jane Public etc...
btw you may want to have a look at this site mp3spy.ru They have black background, but have used the different shades of font colour and it is very easy on the eyes. I do not think there's anything wrong with using dark background on the site - you just need to lift the game with regard to the use of colours.
My apologies again if all the above sounds flaming... No offense meant...
