Completely redesigned www.qriosity.com . Also, changed "stories" to "pictures".
New design: www.qriosity.com
Old design: www.qriosity.com/old/
How is the new design? Do you like it better? Any ideas or comments?
The site is still redesigned alpha version, so some things might not work as expected. However, please tell me if there is anything that doesnt look right.
Thank you!

I like the graphics. They look better, with the whole faded/shadowy effect. Sota makes it look a bit 3D. Shocking colours too! Bit of a difference from the old one. However, I'm not seeing much things changed? Am I missing something?

The colour theme change is an improvement for definite. As I said before though, find a niche. What's the difference between your page and YouTube's front page? Both show the popular videos.

The color change definately gives it a better and more comfortable contrast. For what the site is it's ok, nothing great, I think I see what you are trying to do, I'd recommend adding some forums and chat to make the community and build around those rather than highlight on connecting to music videos from youtube, give a community environment to make it a place they want to come hang out and be part of

Thanks for the idea, but I dont think I need forum and chat. The idea is too different for that. Basically, studying the trends of search engine queries, I update topics every day. Thats where the name qriosity comes from. Qriosity is the resource for qurious people, who can watch videos, pictures and read news on the topics that people search the most. It will be updated daily. It is kind of hard to add chat and forum on topics that are different every day.

Possibly try moving the videos around and use the white space more. If you do this the ye might move around and become more interested.

Love the use of color! Really adds a feeling of depth, gives the site some more character. Great looking website.

I think I'm going to be the first detractor on "liking the colors"... I'm not enjoying the pumpkin-orange background... The warm-green for the links is ok, but the orange? I don't know... I feel it pulling my eyes away from the content... whereas black would push my eyes into the site and white would free me up to spot focus colors, the orange competes with the content too much...
The drop-shadow is nice.
The underlined text-links at the top feel like an afterthought. Why the underlines?
Also, the text links in the tabs... do they have to be text links? Could they be images of a slightly sexier font? Do the text links serve SEO somehow? I would up the quality of typography a bit.
Regarding content, I get it and like it... do you archive the "Favorites" as time passes? I mean, beyond the months? A list like that could be valuable to people, I would think... I think what is popular and when it was popular is provides a time capsule of pop culture...
Anyway, hope the critique helps.

I agree with jesseBEE on the orange. Its not so much the hue but the intensity, that makes it distracting. Overall I do like the site.

Thank you for a good review...
I think you are right about the background... I would have to change it to a more shaded color...
As for underlined text links, it draws more attention. Sometime people do not notice since there are 3 levels of menus...
As for tabs, I can change those to buttons, however, it already takes a while to load a site... I need to reduce sizes of some images before I do that...
As for popular beyond the month, it is kind of hard to find that statistics...
After I will get done with the beta, I might make top 10 or someting like that and make people vote for favourite videos and pictures...

New one is absolutely better!
Maybe you could make a mouse-over in the topmenu?
Your ads are nice blended!

Oh, thank you. You are the first one to like the ads. Others say they are too big.
As for mouse-over, what exactly do you mean? instead of text, make images for the categories that change on mouse over? Something like when you put mouse over "video", "pictures", "news"?

It looks a lot better to me.
I am not a huge WWe fan, but the message is clear and straightforward.
Good clean design.
