i am making the browsable encyclopedia of plants,
it has listing of about 90,000 plants

please check out and let me know any modifications

OK first thoughts - way too crowded. I understand you need to make money from this site and having a plant encyclopedia is an original and useful idea. However, there is far too much adsense on the front page - FAR TOO MUCH!

Choose between the top adsense bar and the adsense just below it - keep one or the other, as both just make the site look untidy and crowded. On the pages themselves, this is not as significant but first looks do count so I'd take at least one of the adsense parts off the page. The adsense sidebar integrates well into the site.

You're obviously aware that many of the articles don't currently exist I hope! Lol - I expect you are.

Don't let your link page ruin the site - keep things in there relative to your content and don't add too much to it. Once your site gets noticed, I expect a lot of people will be linking to your site by choice, so don't commit yourself to stupid link exchanges.

Overall, well done. The colour scheme is fitting and the site in general is very good.

Oh sorry - after taking another look at the site I realised that those sites on the links page are yours

Anyway...I did also notice a spelling mistake on the page - it's sponsors, not sponsers.

The browse pages part on the sitemap page needs to be clear about which letter is which - e.g. A, B, C, D etc. At the moment, the links to each page say "encyclopedia of plants - information of around 90,000 plants" - you're probably still working on this, but I thought I'd point it out

I have to agree with the Adsense, it is way too over crowded. The adsense on the side works well with your website so I would keep that. I would also probably keep the adsense underneath where it tells you how many records have been found.

I think your links page should contain links that are related to your area, not webmaster related like you have done.

You also need to populate your database with articles, or else people will have no reason to return to your website.

The design and colour scheme is suited to your website, and I like it a lot. Also the navigation works well. The site overall is very simple in design, and I tend to think simple designs work best.

thanks for your evaluation,
i will definitely consider your points in next few days for upgrade.

i also have to remove links for plants for which there is no data.
i am writing codes for that and the search caching system.

you will notice some of the ads off soon.

PS: i am also getting another site ready.. it will be available for review soon :d

Personally i think you did a good job blending adsense.

the only one that really sticks out is the single line 5 spot
at the top of the page.

other than that I would experiment with a couple
different search bar colors - the Grey seems a bit
overpowering to me.

I agree with'em your AdSense on the left blends very well in your website, and that those on the top looks out of place. The color of the website is unique yet worked out nicely. The only problem I have with your website is the lag of "advanced search".

I like your site but I would recommend something

Flowers are beautiful they would make your site beautiful so why not use a real image of flowers because your site is a plant encyclopedia.

Talkupation would be greatly appreciated

I think that you may organize the search by type too (if I am looking for a Carnivorous Plants but I do not know any names...)

I like the site it is off to a good start. I would reccomend joining an affiliate advertising company such as Commission Junction and maybe adding a banner at the very top to make some affilliate money rather then the adsense you currently have at the top.

I like it, and it's a noble cause. The google of plants, my dad the gardener would love it!

It does look a bit busy, but that's not a bad thing, just look at MSN and Yahoo!
