Hi

I really like the site. Only 2 things I would comment on but im no expert. The template is brilliant although made the site a little slow. Even on my work 100mb broadband connection.

and secondly. There seems to be an awful lot of categories. maybe less categories with sub forums would feel a little better. Over all though the site is brilliant and what a phenomenal growth rate

Good Job

I also think it looks really good. Like the colours and graphics, but too many forums. It's still small website, so better cut down on the empty forums a bit. A forum with only 3 topics, is a turn off. So if you can't create some amount of topics to all those forums, I'd suggest taking some off right away

nice looking forum, the design really merges well with the subject of the forum so nice work.

can i ask one thing, im probebly being dumb but the forum icons on the side all indicate that the forum is locked, usually on forums it would display as "no new posts" icon instead of looking locked to guests, is this done on purpose or are the forums locked?

I need a web designer fast for a fun nonprofit organization that I am starting. I need help with the coding and actually someone to do this for me at a reasonable price. If you are interested please contact me at MiMiTheDirector@yahoo.com. Thanks

Here are some of the things I need the site to do:

  • provide an automated job postings/ resource where people can post resumes and companies can post jobs and review resumes to connect for jobs (membership password protected) example: www.opportunitynocs.org
  • advertise workshops, programs, events
  • create e-blast newsletter (want to use constant contact) but I would like the website to send an email to my inbox when someone signs up to receive a newsletter.
  • have the website accept membership payments and automatically give access to web services and organizational services
  • have an events calendar that can be automatically updated by membership and show up automatically
  • advertise products and services like film and television production: movies, commercials, music videos,
  • organize and advertise worldwide trips to film festivals, television and film award shows, etc.
  • offer classes to youth on how to create stories and make their own movies and television shows
  • solicit financial partnerships and resources with movie goers, filmmakers, local and major movie and television companies, Hollywood North which includes Tahoe, Sacramento, Oakland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
  • <LI class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Provide information about resources used in production from grants, financing, attorneys, management, agencies, production houses, producers, crew, and actors.
  • see www.reeldirectory.com
  • connect all of the cities in Northern California with other resources within NOR-Cal on a local and major level as well as promote and connect with major film and television centers in Los Angeles and other locations worldwide
  • have fabulously phenomenal networking events all throughout Northern California
  • provide discounts on film/ television equipment rentals and other resources necessary to do film and television
  • provide memberships which would allow people to blog, advertise their events on the event calendar, gain access to the e-mailing list for marketing blasts (so there would have to be an option to receive these ads, or we could create the blast for the organization which would go out in an e-newsletter and then go out to the entire membership.
  • have tips on fundraising (info section)
  • accept donations through website
  • advertise Guest speakers from major film and television companies on how to get an internship or a job with a major, or speakers from talent agencies
  • Sell products like books, dvds, etc.
  • Overall I want as much stuff through the website to be automated so that I can focus on the real business at hand. In addition, I would like for the site to be FUN, exciting, easy to use, highly interactive...with a blog.
The organization is basically a resource for filmmakers, television producers, and those interested in learning about how to get into the industry and continue working within the field in Northern California.

I would like the site to have fun colors and there is no logo at the moment so feel free to design one for the organization. I am thinking the logo should have a starburst with a film camera, a television, and something that signifies unity and people. but I want the site to be hip, trendy, and exciting to see. The colors should be fun and exciting and people should want to visit it often.

Hope this helps

I would like to know:

1) how many hours something like this would take to build?

2) I would like the process to be simple for both of us but will allow for the best hybrid between functionality and price. I am a cost sensitive client however I want high quality.

3) I know that this site can be used also as an advertisement for your skills because I am networking with people as North as Tahoe and as South as Los Angeles, if everything works well between us I am eager to refer you business from all of our members and resources. So in addition to my business there is an opportunity for you to be involved with other businesses as well.

I want to encourage our members who are local production houses or budding filmmakers to have a professional online presence which will require your services. And for the members we can work out a package deal for them as part of their membership, if they choose to use it.

I like the template color, but I think there is too much vertical whitespace between the forum names.

Thank you. Are you sure they are all locked?? I have not done anything like that. Maybe it is a bug in somewhere?

Wow, that's alot of forums. If you want that many forum areas, I think you can break it into subforums. Easier to navigate.

Like everybody else, the graphics are clean.

I think I'll have to join too.
