Website Review and Suggestions

I am doing a website for a church, I no where near complete, but I am trying to get some fresh ideas, I have the start of the home page here www.illume.pawdesign.net ; however none of the links work right now, I am just trying to get a solid design first. The screen shot http://www.illume.pawdesign.net/S1.jpg shows where I plan to put a small gallery that will constantly slide pictures across the screen. Any comment or suggestions would be appreciated, such as border or not, like the logo or not and so on. Thanks.

hey, i think you can clean up the type a little bit on the logo.

also on the navigation, it might look better if you choose either all upper case or all lower case for the buttons. if you decide to use all upper case, you also might decrease the font size a little.

It is not live yet I am just using a sub-domain off my other site until I finish it but it is back up now.

If I buy a design can I asked for it to be changed?

I think after a modal verb like 'can' the other verb should be infinitive, like 'ask'. Probably just a typo. Or is it my mistake? I'm not a native English speaker, to be honest...

Yeah that's a little typo I guess - small spelling mistakes can damage a site's image though :P

When I hover over the menu item, it takes a little bit for the new picture to show up, and until then it's white there.

What I would do is cache all of the images for the users so the hovers will show up right away. What I would do is put 1px*1px images of all of the hover images on your site.

That that you will apply movement, it is very good, and it seems to me involves users.

The upper menu is not soothing at all....and try to make it using shade of upper logo where the flame sort you designed........it seems you can work more...if we remove the slider...nothing says its a ministry site....so try to figure out this !!

try and preload the images and the click below thing is just weird...
