We have done very little paid advertising to date. Most of the customers have been coming from free classified ads. We have only spent approximately $150--$200 for advertising on Google AdWords and Yahoo Search Marketing over the course of the last 6 weeks. The opportunity to make a lot more money through better marketing tactics is obviously available to anyone with a little time to devote to it.
The potential for expanding the site to include other financial types of products is great--many customers looking to save money on insurance and loans are also interested in other money-saving areas.
Revenue Details:
Almost all of the revenue from the website comes from the insurance and loan companies we do business with based on how much they bid to be placed near the top of a particular insurance or loan listing in a particular U.S. state. The companies' payments depend on the competitiveness of each product in each state, with Auto and Life Insurance paying the most in virtually all states. I would be happy to share more details with any interested persons. This would be fully explained and detailed to any prospective buyer.
We only recently placed Adsense on the homepage but it has not been in place long enough to determine how much it will earn from this method.
