People add themselves to this 'list'. After adding themselves, they are given a button that allows them to post a bulletin on MySpace containing everybody on the list with "Add Me" buttons. These are designed for people on the 'list' to gain many friends. The list also contains a feature where viewing members of MySpace can also join the list. When other people join they list they are forwarded to the site and also given the option to post the bulletin. It's similar to a 'pyramid scheme'. Bands and organizations love this because it gives them the opportunity for promotion and advertisement.
When the 'list' has 40+ people on it, it automatically clears and starts over.
There are also features on friendtrain.com that allow people to pay for 'subscriptions' that last 24 hours. Such subscriptions include being the Freatured Profile, permanantly #1 on the train, or permanantly #2 on the train.
