In addition to a fairly unique design, the site includes a couple of mods that I added in the last couple of days that will only help to increase traffic and revenue in the future.
• After each game is a mod that provides code for a user to add the game directly to their site, myspace, xanga, etc. When it is shown on a site, a link is shown directly below the game to Arcade Ship.
• Currently there is a delay for guests when viewing games. When you click on a game you will see a transition page with a banner ad. This encourages visitors to register. (This feature can be turned on or off for all visitors very easily.) Since I added this mod I have already seen an increase in banner revenue.
What you get with this sale:
- Domain name arcadeship.com and arcadeship.net via free push through Namecheap. Arcadeship.com is registered through May 18, 2007. Arcadeship.net is registered through June 1, 2007. The only thing on the .net version is a placeholder directing the visitor to the .com domain. (This prevents the possibility of getting penalized by the search engines for duplicate content.)
- Complete site/contents/design. The design is fairly unique; it was made and sold to only about 5 sites. Since the site has over 2,000 games, it takes up about 1.6GB of space.
- The license for phpArcadeScript transferred into your name.
Hosting:
The site is currently hosted at Host Gator on their Swamp plan, which costs $14.95/month and provides 10GB of space and 100GB of bandwidth per month. It has been paid through the end of the month. Since it would take a very long time to transfer 1.6GB of data, I’d be willing to transfer the ownership of my current shared account into the buyer’s name at no additional cost. (You would be responsible for any further hosting costs.) Keep in mind though that if the site continues at its’ current growth rate it won’t be very long before it will need a VPS or semi dedicated server.
Revenue Details:
I have been using Yahoo Publisher Network contextual ads and ValueClick media banner ads. Please see the attached excel document showing the total revenue for last month and so far this month. It is currently making about $250 a month.
Advertising:
Initially when this site started I advertised using Google Adwords. I used about $100 worth of Adwords vouchers that I paid around $10 for. This campaign has expired about 2 weeks ago.
I have also advertised the site through topsites and link exchanges.
Traffic details:
Please see the attached screenshots for traffic details. On July 1 one of the games on the site, Zynex, was linked to from two very large sites, heavygames.com and kickingames.com. The site received 5,000 unique visitors that day alone. The site normally receives about 500 unique visitors per day.
During a week day there are usually 2,000-3,500 games plays per day. On the weekends only about 1,000-1,500 games are played per day. A cron job is used to reset the daily game play totals at midnight each night.
Paypal is the preferred method of payment; however I will also accept money orders.
