A Little Background Information...
1StopDir has been online since March 2006 which makes the website near enough 1 year old. There has been an incredible
1921 links submitted to the directory in that time. Running of the site takes little time, you simply approve/disapprove submitted links. The directory does get a bit of spam links submitted, they take a few minutes to delete. You can also ban IP's and domains via the banning tool.
The Domain
The domain is very nice in my opinion and many people have commented on how nice it sounds.
- Registered at GoDaddy - Free push to your account.
- Doesn't expire until 2008-03-19 - a whole year remaining.
The Software License
The site uses
PhpLinkDirectory. 1StopDir uses the top $75 license which gives you eternal usage of the license with
no link back required. The license
is included - the login details will be given to the auction winner.
The Skin
The eye-catching, and quite beautiful skin, was made by Anthony Bullock of
MicroVisuals. I purchased it through another individual however, for $235. The theme is
completely unique and coded in
valid XHTML.
Revenue
I will, of course, be honest here. There is no consistent revenue being made by the site. In the past year I have sold
42 featured links ($5/each) and
8 text links in the footer of the directory at $25/each.
- $410 for the year.
- Around $34/month.
As you can see, nothing to boast about. However, I believe everything is in place to make more, more traffic would lead to more featured links being sold and such. In the right hands, I do feel the revenue potential is high.

As with the revenue, not a lot to go on but this is with zero advertising .
