So you are renting a domain? Do you keep the domain? If I rented it for £15 a month 3 months down the line i have a good website hosted with you, you have the domain, hey look my sites gone, no domain because I never had it in the first place and paid £45 to the scammer. Sorry but this sounds like a scam. Please do correct me if I am wrong.

I agree, I can't understand why I would want to pay you to improve your site.

Where does the hosting come from, is it your server or a respected company?

You are still not making it obvious why someone would want to rent a site they might lose in a few weeks, a domain is easy to get and no-one would pay that much for the domain + hosting.

This sounds like a interesting concept. I agree with you Vinish. And on this day [July 06 2007] I feel that Renting Websites and Domain will be the new hype 6 month to 12 month down the line.

Renting a website is not accepted to me,

Renting a car or a house is ok . Renting a website will never ever should do or try to do because it is a good chance to sammers to makes money. But there is a way you can rent a domain name. In that case you will have to transfer the ownership of the domain name to the buyer for the discussed time period. But another 3rd party should invloved in the contract. Also you will have to provide your real identity.

Vinish, i didnt say you are a scammer, but think to sell your website or domain name, not to rent. I also had some great websites and i was very upset to see their gone. But i did sell it. Talking about unlimited hosting is useless. There is no such a thing called unlimited hosting. If you are really in to unlimited hosting you should get a deicated server from a reputed company. Agan dont think im trying to say you are a scammer, but i need to make sure this is not right.

Thanks

I could possibly see renting of a site, a developed one at least.

For example, you have a website that generates profit, but you dont have the time. So you rent it with the idea that the person you rent it to develops it and in returns keeps the revenue as long he pays the rent.

But for an undeveloped domain? NO

To top it off, you need a legal agreement, a written contract.

This offer...whats to stop either person from logging in, changing the contact email and then the cpanel password?

So you (the renter) say you'll write to your host and have it reset? Well what if the rentee reported your email address to the company as a spammer and it was shut down for abuse? Then you have basically no quick recourse.

The dispute isnt that it is unlimited (I'll get to that later) its the fact that "renting" a site is about as shady or scam like practice there is. It's to easy for one party to rip off another.

Now on to the unlimited...there is a very bad air about unlimited hosting. Overselling, over worked servers because everyone them is unlimited. In my opinion, its a disadvantage. I'm less likely to rent or buy an unlimited account. How many people am I sharing a server with that "unlimited accounts"?

That's the main thing. Basically you'll want someone to work hard and make your site famous. Then a year later you sell the site and keep all the profit, while not having to even lift a finger to make it worth anything. Then the person who really worked to make your site worth anything will get nothing in return! He'll even have paid you for it.

I don't think you're trying to scam people, just that you want to make money while you sleep Good luck. I really hope you'll find someone who is willing to do all the work for you.
