While Yahoo xml sitemaps are supposed to be different from Google xml sitemaps, I have heard a lot about the Yahoo xml sitemaps. Do you think that this is true? Is there any difference between these xml sitemaps according to you? I have experienced different results from having the same sitemap in case of Google and Yahoo where one has accepted it well and the other hasn’t at all. I am not sure if I was right in my observation as it is a complicated area. Do you know what can be done in this particular scenario? Can someone help?

How Yahoo xml sitemap is different than Google xml sitemap? I don't know. I used same xml sitemap for all the search engines.

I have optimize many sites but never created yahoo site map. it may be helpful to people specially giving focus on yahoo sitemap..

They are both differ in many ways but have the same purpose since they are created to do a sitemap for a page.

i only know 1 sitemap.xml, my blogging platform typepad make it simple for blogger. 1 auto sitemap.xml and its works for google yahoo and bing.
and atom.xml still my fav tho (even tho i dont know what the different)

Yahoo and Google sitemaps have the same purpose though have difference in the presentation and application. They are both beneficial and the only difference is where you are more comfortable working with. In my case, I like Google because for me its easy to manage

A sitemap is for a site, not a page. That is why it is called a sitemap and not a pagemap.
